About The Kemah Boardwalk

The Kemah Boardwalk is right down the road, just a short quick 20 mile drive from downtown Houston, and you're there in minutes. The boardwalk has many gift shops and retail shops where you can shop until your heart's content. This amazing tropical paradise provides entertaining festivals and shows for young and old alike.

Another featured attraction for a lot of visitors is the great variety of places to dine on the waterfront. There are so many top notch restaurants on the boardwalk you'll have a hard time choosing just one.

The Kemah Boardwalk is home to many well known restaurants, including the world famous Landry's Seafood House. A few other restaurants along the waterfront are Joe's Crab Shack, The Cadillac Bar, The Flying Dutchman, Saltgrass Steakhouse, and Babin's Seafood House. Believe it or not, there are more fine restaurants for your dining pleasure.

The Kemah Boardwalk is like the old fashioned carnival I remember from childhood, Kids of all ages will love the rides, starting with the C.P. Huntington Train. It travels around and throughout the entire boardwalk. By the time the train comes to a stop at the end of the trip, kids hop off quickly and head for their favorite rides.

They are either looking for the roller coasters, ferris wheels, carousels, dancing fountains, and other exciting amusement rides. There are many other great attractions, fun filled mid-way games and plenty of good old fashion thrill-rides.

Let the fun begin!

Why I Like the Kemah Boardwalk

My love of the boardwalk began three years ago when I was fortunate enough to spend some time there.  It turned out to be a great place to go relieve myself of some of the everyday stresses. It’s kind of a tropical paradise, for me anyway.

I love just taking a break from the regular routine of busy city life and enjoying the vacation like atmosphere. I love the smell of the salt water, the taste of the delicious food, and the laid back relaxing atmosphere.

Contrary to what many people mistakenly believe, there are plenty of family friendly activities that can make your next trip to The Kemah Boardwalk one to remember for the entire family. There are activities and entertainment for everyone, from babies to teens to adults.

One thing I really love about the boardwalk is that most things are close by and within walking distance of each other. Many of the rides, attractions, and even The Boardwalk Inn Hotel front a stretch of the boardwalk. One reason I love staying in the hotel on the boardwalk is because we don't have to drive at all the whole time we're there.  It’s a great feeling to enjoy the environment of a far away vacation when in reality you are right in your own back yard.

If you haven’t been to the Kemah Boardwalk, you’ve got to put it on your list of places to visit.
